Jessica discovered her passion for working with children as an undergraduate student at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. This passion led her to complete a Master’s degree and Educational Specialist degree in Educational Psychology at Chapman University in Orange, California. After completing her degree, Jessica practiced as a school psychologist in the Highline Public Schools and Seattle Public Schools school districts for four years, performing psycho-educational evaluations for students with disabilities, and collaborating with school teams to develop behavior intervention plans for students needing extra support. Through this experience, Jessica realized that her strongest interests were in the realm of behavior, leading her to complete the Applied Behavior Analysis program at the University of Washington in 2017, where she gained hands-on experience at UW’s Experimental Education Unit. Jessica plans to further her understanding of behavior and her clinical interests, including language development and interventions to address challenging behaviors as a doctoral student of Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis in the fall of 2018. She is very excited to be working at APPLE where a collaborative approach to supporting children is both valued and supported. Jessica has been with APPLE since the Fall of 2017.
