Maya Nuno MEd, BCBA, LBA
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
Maya Nuno received her Masters in Special Education for Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Washington and has been with APPLE Consulting for three and a half years. She has worked in both the clinic setting and with the school districts we serve, working with kids from pre-school through middle school. She is thrilled to now be apart of the APPLE Academy team, combining her passions for positive behavior support and education to create a space where learning can thrive. Maya has seen the challenges of public school first hand, and is grateful for the opportunity to support students in building the skills they need to access education in their least restrictive environment. Maya has experience in Skills Based Treatment, developed by Dr. Greg Hanley, in which contextually appropriate behaviors, like learning readiness, are build through vital foundational skills like functional communication. She values an assent based and trauma-assumed practice that meets each student exactly where they are at, supporting their unique needs. Maya feels passionate about including student’s in their own learning and prompting self-advocacy in their daily life. Her goal is to support each student in building life-long learning skills that will support their transition back into their home public school classroom
